Fake hair and dating
So for the sake of a sociological investigation, I decided to do a little experiment to see exactly how much hair has an influence on the amount of interested potential dates. For the first week, I made a dating profile (one on Tinder and one on Ok Cupid) with pictures of my usual short hair and recorded the number of matches/likes and messages I received.
For the second week, I did the same thing but with a new profile that had pictures of me with long hair.
On one hand, I like the way I look with short hair; but on the other hand, the most popular woman on Ok Cupid has long hair.
I, of course, would never change my hair just to make someone like me, but I curious.
Men who are bald or unhappy with their hair, length, line or texture are doing something about it. Really, when you think about it, theres nothing necessarily new about men wearing fake hair. Would you want him to reveal this information on date one or two so you know what you’re really getting into?
Would you be disheartened or disinterested to learn that the hair on his head didn’t grow from his scalp?
I guess the older I get, the more I realize that hair is not just important to Black women.
Black men send themselves through some changes as well to get their desired look.
Aside from the pain of putting in the cornrows, it was a relatively bearable process, and boy, oh boy, did they look .Yes we are all entitled to our own opinion but I am tired of people, black men in particular, attacking black women who wear weaves as if we are the only race wearing them. Not to mention, why is it your concern what another woman chooses to do with her hair?I’ve also had short hair—like pixie cut short, sometimes even buzzcut short—for the same amount of time.So when I recently found myself single and on Tinder for the first time, I couldn’t help but wonder (in my best Carrie Bradshaw voice): Do men on dating sites prefer short hair or long hair?
